Sketching | Drawing techniques for product designers is een ongelooflijk breed en praktisch onderzoek naar schets technieken voor produkt ontwerpers. Voor de hand liggend is dit boek erg geschikt voor het onderwijs, maar ook binnen ontwerpstudio’s is het een veel gebruikte handleiding.

Het boek doet dienst als referentie, bedoeld voor studenten en ontwerpers. Het is vertaald in verschillende talen. Het grote aantal tekeningen en illustraties vertellen het verhaal. We hebben onze tekeningen, zowel op papier als digitaal, afgewisseld met foto’s en realiteit: Designer Showcases om de verschillende teken aspecten, tips en theorie toe toelichten. Het maak daarnaast ook de positie en het gebruik van tekenen in het product ontwerp proces zichtbaar.
"Sketching | drawing techniques for product designers" werd gepubliceerd in 2007. In korte tijd werd het een veel gebruikt boek in het ontwerp onderwijs over de hele wereld, als verlengstuk van het tekenonderwijs. Het is ook een pleidooi voor de noodzaak van ontwerpers om te tekenen (en daarmee ook in het ontwerp onderwijs) en laat een grote variëteit aan voorbeelden zien van tekeningen in het ontwerp proces.
Design showcases van toonaangevende Nederlandse ontwerpers (en diegenen met een Nederlandse opleiding), van kleine onafhankelijke buro's tot vooraanstaande internationale ondernemingen, zijn verworven, en onderstrepen tegelijkertijd "Dutch Design".
